That’s general manager Sean Clancy’s story. He began as an overnight security guard at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey. When he took charge in Coronado in 2015, the hotel was transitioning into a unionized property. Since then, employee satisfaction has risen from 75 to 88 percent. Virtually no one is making minimum wage and turnover is lower than industry standards. The average daily room rate stands at $230 and is expected rise a bit next year.
